Océ ColorWave® 600 printer receives best “emerging” technology award
Seventh major industry award for innovative new Océ system and technology
Venlo, The Netherlands, 12 May 2009 – Océ, an international leader in digital document management, today announced that its wide format Océ ColorWave 600 printer has received the EDP award for best emerging technology. Each year, the EDP, the independent European association for the digital print industry, awards the best products within the industry. This is the seventh major industry award that the Océ ColorWave 600 printer has received since its introduction in 2008.
One key reason for the EDP recognition is the fundamentally new technology applied in the Océ ColorWave 600 printer, the Océ CrystalPoint® technology, developed in-house by Océ. It offers the best of both toner and inkjet in a single sustainable process. Customers can use it to make high quality black & white or color prints on lighter weight or recycled paper. It is also an entirely sustainable technology. There is no toner powder, no odor and no ozone. It minimizes waste disposal, and because the technology does not require coated media, it also reduces the environmental impact of paper coatings.

EDP is the newly formed European association for the burgeoning digital print industry. The goal of the EDP is to be a recognized industry forum and a valuable resource for association members. A large part of its remit is to acknowledge and award the latest developments in R&D in the digital print industry and as a result EDP has launched its annual awards program – the EDP Awards.
